Going live

[Life on La Lune 2021] I need to point out that this very first post was written more than 11 years ago! The blog was entitled then, ‘A Writer’s Lot in France’, and it was going to be about my writing life. However, it hasn’t turned out that way, Instead, it’s become a life in France blog with a particular focus on the history and culture of our region, Occitanie.

I also changed the name to Life on La Lune. This is because Lot could be taken to mean the Lot Département, whereas I live in Tarn-et-Garonne. The focus of the blog changed, so that it’s no longer on writing. And La Lune is the name of the lieu-dit where we live.

If you read other posts, I hope you enjoy them. I have learned a lot about blogging in 11 years!

I’ve done it!! My own blog.  Perhaps I should have entitled it ‘A writer’s little’.  The fact is, the profession is poorly paid, frustrating and lonely.  But it’s also exhilarating, fun and rewarding in other ways.  I’ve been earning my living as a writer of research reports, corporate literature and other serious stuff for years, but I’m now branching out in other directions. This month I started a Writer’s Bureau course on article writing, which I hope will help me to get published in that genre.  If all goes well, I hope to move on from there to other genres such as short story writing – but the market seems awfully crowded.  On this blog I intend to post, at least once a week, news of what I’ve been up to writing-wise, writing tips and news from France.

P.S. This site is still under construction. Have patience while I get my head round widgets and all the other gismos that I don’t yet understand.
